Easy A prof, one of very few such Math profs. Also very approachable, he discusses the lessons direct to the point, and this is also reflected in the long tests, thus making them easy. :)more

HE IS THE GOAT!! 🐐🐐 dont get too comfortable because his quizzes and long tests will [exponentially] get more and more difficult. (our quizzes started having past departmental exam questions by the second half of the semester) He does really well preparing you for the departmental/s and his LTs. Partial points are more about understanding than correctness in calculations. super nice and chill as well trust me he is the goat 🐐🐐🐐more

Currently have him for Math 30.24, I feel like he's the best Math prof I've had so far, explains the concepts really well, he gives back the quizzes and papers on time, and his quizzes mirror the exercises he gives. Pagdating sa departmental exams, I feel like naprepare ako ng maayos + did well sa departmental so yes goated math prof 10/10 sa prof evals EDIT: He doesn't take attendance but there was one time where he gave the few ppl in the class who attended +10 sa final exam😭😭more

Iirc, Sir Tabares also lets us use cheatsheets for some of the quizzes. I remember one time he allowed us to write all the convergence/divergence tests onto an A4. This might not apply to all his quizzes but it's almost as good as his (hypothetical??) +10 ^^^more

I had him for a different class pre-pandemic, but he’s one of the nicest profs I’ve had. He explains lessons well and is very approachable. I also really appreciated how on one day of class, he decided not to start the lesson right away so we could have an open discussion about an issue that was going on in the school at the time. To me, this showed that he cared about more than just educating us in mathematics and also cared about setting his students on the right path in life, embodying the holistic education Ateneo gives emphasis to.more

He’s the best! You’re in great hands. For me, he’s an easy A prof even with minimal review lang (as long as u listen to his discussions). I was his class beadle last 2nd sem and he was very responsive and lenient. He was also very kind in and out of the classroom. His classes were never boring kahit 8:00 am pa yan. Hindi siya nakakaantok magturo. He gives practice long tests and quizzes and those are pretty much almost the same as the actual long tests/quizzes so really have time to understand it pag ni-ddiscuss niya yun sa class (yes he discusses the practice tests in class a day before the actual exam). If u want notes, i have handwritten notes to offer! I loved taking notes sa class niya so just pm me.more

I'm jus gonna copypaste a message I sent to someone when I took his class for 30.14! "For me, he was my best option though I didn't choose him myself (I gambled during enlistment because all 30.14 profs were TBA) so I just got really lucky honestly. For me also, he's definitely what made me pass 30.14. It's just that he explains everything so well and he doesn't mind if you ask questions kahit kakaexplain lang. To be honest, I didn't put as much effort but that's because I was able to understand his teachings talaga and he gives examples and sample tests for the tests/quizzes. Plus, he even gave an assignment which was strongly discouraged in the math department btw which helped pull up my grade. And this is coming from someone who's SO BAD at calculus. Just make sure to approach him in the first few days of the semester and talk about how you failed and stuff because that definitely helped. Don't be afraid! He's very nice naman 😊"more

Hi, Hyram! Turns out we were Sir's first ever class handled hehe. He's really a great prof, and if we can get him once more, we would definitely get him again! Had him for SocSc 11 and we only did three journal papers, one big group project (mostly interviews but async naman so it was handlable!), and a final project regarding our journals. At first, it would seem na super rami ng requirements, but he really assisted us from start to finish --- hence, we managed everything so smoothly. In terms of classes naman, he's very engaging and always asks us if we understand the lesson. I remember sometimes we'd do prelim activities pa before the class just to engage us (it was a sleepy after-lunch sched kasi), but overall, he really knows his stuff. Plus, his PPTs are so good and organized!! I could vividly remember the graphics were done by hand pa, as he really wants to explain all concepts by heart.more
