Take Tomenes for MATH 60.2 if you will print the slides, grind the sample LT, and use Excel. Lean away from MATH 10 / MATH 30.13 if you have a thin math background, need generous partial credit, or need a slow core lecturer. Do not pick him for an easy A. Sample is seven unique writeups and they disagree by course, so this is context_dependent rather than lean_avoid.

context: i took his class ‘24 intersession MATH 60.2 tldr: for me he’s a fine prof (makes lessons digestible, helpful PPTS, accommodating with questions), confusing at times though, no bonus points opportunities (at least in my time) what i liked: - he gave very helpful powerpoints (if you will have him, I suggest that you print them out) - makes lessons easy to understand as much as possible - gives a sample LT with an answer key - the sample LT’s difficulty is the same with the LT (he gets questions from them sometimes) - accommodating with questions - for workload, there were no assignments at all (workload is just reviewing for the long exams) - provided necessary formulas during the exams (but i think all profs did not sure) what i dislike and/or might be a dealbreaker for some: - there are times when he is rlly confusing 😆 (he accommodates questions though) - did not give out bonus points opportunities ☹️ (asked if he could provide some extra activities to boost our grades, but he said no) tips for his class: - want an A? study REALLY hard like take the lessons to heart. you’ll need to put in A LOT of effort as your grade depends on the 3 LEs - listen attentively during discussions and still take notes! (he provides solutions on the board that he doesn’t include in the uploaded ppts) - always keep Excel opened - read the PPTS - do the sample exam independently despite what I gave on the cons, don’t worry too much if you got him. again, just listen to his discussions, consult, and do many exercises independently then you’ll pass I forgot if he was generous with giving partial points in the exams though sorrymore

I had sir Mark Tomenes for Math 60.2 last intersession, I'd say he's pretty good naman. He does his best to discuss and explain the problems, concepts, and solutions. At the very least, easy B-B+ I'd say it's good to write/type down notes during the discussions, and practice using MS Excel or Google Sheets as they are very useful and will help you remember the lessons and related things (like how to compute for a certain value, and how to do/find ANOVA and linear regression in Excel/manually). We were allowed to use those tools during the exams. He also gave us a default template or a sort of calculator where you just have to input the values, and there would be results na. I'm not sure if he would do that again this coming intersession though. Iirc he did that because some of us had difficulties in remembering the formulas or there was a low-ish average for one of the tests. He provides mock exams and he recommends that you do/practice them! Doing them definitely helps (at least for me). The LTs we had had some essay type questions based on what we computed and what we can say or ano mga insights and conclusions namin about it. If you did well for Math 10, I think the earlier parts of Math 60.2 would be easier.more

got an a from him ! but i wouldn’t say easy a, i put a lot of effort into studying 😅 his lectures are not so helpful, he gets confused a lot and sometimes makes mistakes. but he provides a lot of practice questions, and imo, if you are able to master them, then youre good for the lts. i studied his practices and looked for the patterns — his lt questions are similar format. speed is also important, bc theres a lot of questions to get thru in the span of one class. overall a-b+ w lots of effort, but if u dont really care, u can get away w c+/c with minimal studying (imo)more

(like he's not generous daw w partial points 😓 (also, hes the only prof w slots left for math 60.2 so maybe ppl dont want to enlist to his class for a reason lol) there r slots for a tba prof pala but idk if i wanna risk itmore

didnt take 30.03 but for math 10 would not recommend TOMENES, Markmostly self taught during the whole class he was confusing and sometimes would make mistakes leading us to have second thoughts about the answersgood side is he uploads everything!i ended up with a B+ though but its because i would study the ppts and exercises.more
