I had miss for Math 30.13 during the intersession.
Pros
- She gives off motherly vibes.
- She will really teach you if you don’t understand the lesson (don’t be shy to consult with her!).
- I think her quizzes/ LTS are okay because she gives mock tests that are very similar to the actual quizzes.
- She gives curves, but I think it depends on whether she knows you or not. So make sure you participate in class and always attend pr seat in front !
Cons
- Miss can be impatient sometimes, HAHAHA. If she asks you something, please answer her quickly!
- She’s strict with tardiness and attendance.
- She’s very strict with solutions—they need to be really complete, so make sure to show every step.
- Her explanations are sometimes vague, but if you ask her how she came up with the solution, she’ll explain it clearly !
Overall: I love Ma’am de Las Peñas! She’s a very good professor, and you’ll learn a lot from her. I think an A- is doable, even if you’re not strong in calculusmore

she expects u to know things beforehand and to keep up really fast. she'll flash a problem for a minute and expects u to have an answer already. she requests for a seatplan because she'll call random people to recite. everyone neefs to have at least recited once in her class.
she gets in to rants from time to time. sometimes she says students can't keep up becausc of the current education system. it's always a 50/50 if she's having a good day.
but she's real generous with practice tests. she also tells you what grade u need to get to keep up in class. but thats about all the good things i can say.
my personal experience with her wasnt fun, even if she gave motherly or lola vibes. might be my skill issue but i felt more scared than motivated to learn her class. had to get tutoring since she isnt for slow learners talaga.more

She is supposed to be retired na but for some reason she recently got back into teaching (not sure)
-You can see she cares/doesn't want her students to fail. So when the class gets low scores on quizzes, she really makes an effort to listen to questions. She's pretty funny din sometimes (imo). Canvas material is another prof's though.
-BUT the way she teaches isn't super good. her explanations can be a bit vague. her teaching style assumes some aptitude in algebra. If your algebra is rusty it will be really hard to follow, so start brushing up. You need to supplement her class with khan academy and self learning. -Quizzes are hard but not impossible apparently. It was common to see people getting low scores (even F's) in her quizzes. People from math courses were able to get high scores, even perfect at times so its not impossible siguro.

1. REVIEW her practice quizzes
-she usually gives you practice quizzes in canvas that u can use to review for an upcoming quiz. Her practice quizzes are like 90% the same as her actual quizzes. Be sure that you're able to grasp and understand the concepts in the practice quizzes
2. follow her solutions STRICTLY
-she wants you to use and follow her solutions like same na same. Otherwise you can risk deductions and lose points just because you didn't put an equal sign or "y=" just like her solutions.
3. Do the assignments and recitations
-these are a good way to get points! Afaik the way she grades is basically a point-pooling system.
4. Study w ur friends or classmates
-trust it helps
5. Maginom ka sa popup with your blockmates after your midtermsmore

i had her for the same subj in first sem this yr and my honest take would be to review a LOT and i mean a LOT cus she expects u to have sufficient background knowledge to follow along with her discussions. she’s actually pretty good at discussions pero u have to like behave cus she has a bit of a temper 😅 she scolded our class like a good 5+ times for varying reasons, but she’s also pretty motherly naman like she’s shows na she cares ab u and she’s like naturally funny if and only if she’s in a good mood LOL 😂 she also gives practice tests that are similar to her long tests a week prior to the test itself so its vv useful imo.
but honestly for intersession, i think she’s good naman, js make sure not to get on her nerves and be nice to her LMFAO goodluck anon!! 🤩more

had her for math 30.13 intersession! imo she's good. the subject itself is challenging so u have to supplement class discussions with self studying din. the way she teaches can be a bit confusing esp if you're kinda rusty with algebra, but she always encouraged us to ask questions or schedule consultations. she also checks the quizzes super fast! like if the quiz is on monday morning, by monday late night may uploaded answer key na sa canvas and she'll return the actual paper by tuesday. may comments din sa paper about your class standing and afaik if it's borderline d/f, she'll tell you to consult with her.
she also gave us mock tests (with notes and reminders) to prepare for the quizzes and finals! she's rlly passionate about teaching, so kahit mahirap siyang intindihin sometimes, i still like her!more
