Hi! I am taking him for Math 10 right now. He definitely explain topics in really simple terms, and his lessons are generally comprehensible. He gives powerpoints to his lessons, and a lot of practice problems. Sometimes I find it difficult to follow the flow of his discussions. He is really passionate about Math and wants to share as much as he can. I think having a more organized train of thought will come with more experience. His class is still a really good experience overall, and he encourages all kinds of questions. He's very cultured as well, so you can talk to him about anything. He also guides you step by step so it's definitely okay to struggle in his class, because you'll do well eventually.more

Jim may appear intimidating, but don't mistake his stern stature as an indication of "terror". He is actually kind (very, at that) and wise on a lot of things beyond the confines of numbers—music, theater, sports, politics, and journalism to name a few, on top of my mind. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable around him, he is very understanding. He is generally passionate about education, and by rewarding it with an actual effort to do well in class, I think you will not have any problem with him, at all. It is his first time to teach, full time. This is reassurance that he is filled with (math) wisdom to the brim; you will learn a lot from him. I am sure he will learn a lot from you lots too! xoxomore

I took his class and let me say, he teaches very well and is very passionate about what he teaches. Don't worry kung hindi ka math person, he will lift you up regardless. He is also funny, kind, and friendly to his students. His tests can be difficult, but if you try your best, you won't necessarily fail. Just study hard and you're in great hands. Trust me.more
