Hi there! Personally I found her lectures really interesting and empowering even. She's very easy to talk to in terms of both personal and class concerns, and if you have things you want to add during recitations she's very receptive to them! As for group works, as long as you find good groupmates it's very manageable naman (e.g. for finals, we had to make some creative "character file" group requirement using the theories of personality concepts we've learned. Since my groupmates and I really worked well together, we were able to do good working on Mulan because we all like Disney:>) + there are "mini" groupworks that we do in class that allow us to discuss what we learned with our groupmates and even apply some theories to each other. As for quizzes, ngl the first few quizzes were very tricky because they're very technical on memorization (we had to use a blue book) but looking back it felt like it's coz my batch were still adjusting from the pandemic 😅😅 (TOP was actually hybrid for us). So what ma'am Gil did was she made the rest of the exams more essay based and the last few were done through canvas, with a week to finish it. Though not sure if that's still the same right now. Overall, as a senior graduating this sem, I'd say ma'am Gil was one of the psychology profs I really enjoyed hehe 💖💖💖 you're in good hands! PSYC 70.06 was also a wholesome experience for me being under her as well last intersession.more

Know each psychologist's differences; essays can save you

when studying the midterms, make sure u know the key differences of each psychologist. some of them use the same term but w some differences in definition and application. my friends and i read the book also for a better understanding and have study sessions tgt. multiple choice questions are a bit tricky, but as long as u fully understand the term (definition and application), you’ll do well. i personally use ma’am’s slides as an outline so that ik which parts to read up on in the book. have fun w the essays! ((pwedeng pwede bawiin sa essays)) ive used personal examples more often.more

we enjoyed her class! She knows quite well the theories, theorists, and other concepts that the subject aims to. The pace is also nice as she doesn't rush the lectures as I heard some other profs tended to do for ToP. She is also approachable, and she has a sort-of mild-mannered personality coming into classes. I think her feedback after grading submissions and even test essays are fair and insightful. I would recommend taking her for ToP hehemore

loveee ms gil 😁 for quizzes and exams, it's most efficient to use her slides as an outline of what u should focus on when reading the book and that should be good na ! be sure to not just memorize but rlly understand the concepts of different theories lalo for the essay portion ganuewnmore

MA’AM GIL IS SO GOATED her exams are multiple choice/identification with an applicational essay question. super doable is you pay attention in class + do your faire share of readings. psyc 24 with ma’am was just so fun, and her lectures in general are so well-thought-out and comprehensive!! 🫶 enjoy her classmore
