Hello! I am the original poster of this post. TLDR: He's the best prof I've had all sem. Teaching: 8/10 Rapport w/students: 10/10 Approachability: 9/10 Easy A: With moderate effort Workload: 5/10 I was scared because he had 0 reviews since he's a novice. However, during the first meeting pa lang, he already showed how skilled and natural he is in teaching. All these comments before me are also accurate in saying he's kind. You can truly see the heart and patience he has for teaching, and he's awkwardly funny too lol. In terms of lessons, it's very standard but still clear. You are very much free and welcome to ask questions—he doesn't dumb-shame. The only times when it was hard for me to keep up was when he would get confused mid-discussion. He often backtracks and corrects things he said, but these are not hard to follow after a meeting or two since you get used to it. The workload for both lab and lec is light to moderate. There is an output every week, sometimes two especially during finals. While sir is very open to questions, he does expect you to read all manuals and instructions. Medyo naabuso yung kindness niya during the first few meetings cause our class would ask a lot of questions that can be answered by reading manuals and instructions closely. Close-reading and coming prepared is very important in his class, and he respects the students that do so. A big con for sir is that he rarely returns work. He gives verbal feedback so you know how you're doing as a class and sometimes individually, but he doesn't give back your scores for lab or worksheets. He only gives feedback for important works such as your final paper and project, but other than that, expect almost 0 return of scores until the last few weeks. Overall, I would highly recommend sir Rob (We didn't earn the name Bob unfortunately) to any freshman or non-SOSE student! He made it clear that he wanted to make science accessible, desirable, and non-pretentious for people outside of science, and that's exactly what he did with our class. Will forever cherish both our lab and lec, sir Rob is the perfect balance of serious and fun, and is my favorite prof this sem!more

Physics was my last resort AND I blind-enlisted with the profs but I ended up having him for PHYS 10.01 and 10.02 (Lec/Lab) !! I'm usually a D student when it comes to physics bc I HATE maths but Sir Bob made everything so fun and engaging and I got a B+ with the bare minimum of effort! He uses films to describe concepts (like HTTYD for aerodynamics and Marvel for lit everything) and hides bonus questions in his exams (deadass one was "stand on your chair and yell 'O Captain my Captain' for +5). You can also make cheat sheets for your exams and he sometimes gives bonus based on creativity! Aside from just being so fun in general, he has compassion for his students and cares about their mental and physical wellbeing a lot which makes him one of my fav profs ever! I agree with Anon 188's comment tho PLSS make sure you have good groupmates (ofc it applies to any subject) to avoid unnecessary stress throughout the term. He grades individually tho w/ peer evals and is open to hearing about tension within your group tho, but still! Get good groupmates! You'll have the best time in his class! Good luck! xmore

Hello! Sir Bob is a BS Physics fresh grad from 2025. Might be a biased comment since he’s a close friend but I had him tutor me for science classes before and also bugged him to explain random science tiktok videos, and he never misses! He explains science concepts in simple words, and is used to teaching/tutoring younger children so he has the patience to teach if you’re a little behind the lessons! Or generally if science jargons are a little foreign to you (as they are to me since I’m not a physics major), he takes the time to explain what they are. As a scholar, he’s also very empathetic and kind. He has a great passion for teaching and I know (and believe) that he will take care of students. The other comments are also true: he is a great friend. If you’re vibes with him, it’s not impossible to still be friends after the sem ends. Be kind to him and he will be kind to you!more

Had him for PHYS10.02 (physics lab), he is the GOAT! He explains the material well and keeps you engaged in class. Very fun prof and Gen Z humor. He doesn’t want to be called Sir/Prof __ (‘cuz he’s still young). Je gave out bonus points minsan sa physics lab if you do certain fun tasks quickly (like emailing the correct answer to the questions he writes/says and in the correct email format), but I’m not sure if he does it too in physics lecture (PHYS10.01). Anyhow, you’re in good hands,! Have funnmore

Makes physics easy; do the problem sets

HE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! He genuinely makes physics easy to understand and you can sense that he is passionate about teaching this subject. One thing I highly encourage is to do the problem sets he gives out as a good chunk of these questions will come out in his long exams (around 40-50 points) as well. I also recommend having good groupmates as some of the problem sets will be done by group. During classroom lectures, he may go through lessons quite quickly (although he often asks the class if the pace he is teaching at is okay or if he should slow down) so also go through the slides as well (he posts them in Canvas). He is a guaranteed A/B+ if you study well for the long tests and do well in the problem sets. Taking physics was not scary at all in his class so please, please take him if you have the chance to do so. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!more

He grades fairly and ensures that the lessons in every test are covered beforehand. He even gave us the essay question bank for our last LE. Some LE's are groupwork as well, so you can talk amongst yourselves while answering. The tests are moderate in difficulty. You would still need to study beforehand and consult sir if you don't understand a particular topic. Tip is a lot of the questions come from the textbook!more
