hi! i took this course in first sem sy 2025-2026 and i highly recommend it jeric is SO engaging and highly knowledgeable on the course topics… sometimes it feels like he’s just making kwento with the class but you learn so much… and the course itself is so interesting especially if you’re into western monarchy and it also delves/connects into other areas like gender studies, pop culture etc the workload is super manageable and actually you won’t feel it unless its midterm/final szn so most lecture days are super chill and i think prof doesn’t take attendance sometimes lol. you only have 3 assessments: a midterm paper, a class debate and a final paper. everything is by group so make sure you get reliable groupmates. your group will choose from a pool of thesis statements for the midterm but for the final paper your group will propose your own topic. the class debate might be the most intimidating assessment though from my experience it was quite chill because we got an easy topic and you have a lot of time to prepare beforehand because the topic of your debate and your position will be given weeks ahead. as for grading, i would say its A with effort, probably easy B. the class average for the papers were around B but we got an A for everything so its definitely A-able hehe tldr i really encourage you to take this class!! super enjoyable even if im from som lolmore

actually maybe its A with medium effort, prof was fair and generous with grading so as long as you submit papers with quality, you can easily bag that A lol!

also, had this elective and it was fun! we had a few debates at the end of the sem and it's chill lang! also had a paper and it was one of the best elective finals i had hahaha

Hi! Took this class back in first sem 2023-2024 pa so idk if it’s still accurate, but I loved sir’s class. If you’re into history, I think you’ll def be interested and as said in other reviews, he will discuss it and correlate it with various POVs like gender studies, queer theory, pop culture, etc. I would say the most difficult assessments are the debate and the final paper. For the debate, just do your research and you’ll be fine plus I would recommend volunteering earlier, so your debate won’t be during finals. he doesn’t mind scripts, but don’t make it obvious. The term paper for me was the most difficult since I’m not really well versed in writing humanities-heavy papers, but since it’s by group as long as you have good groupmates, you’re ok. Also try to come up with good topics for it agad bc sir can reject all of your submitted topics no matter the number and won’t budge until he sees a good one. Sir in general can come off as sassy, but he’s not mean. His personality actually makes the class more engaging, so I really enjoyed his discussions. When you present your paper, he will ask a lot of questions especially in your methodology so be prepared. A-able with some effort, but you can easily cruise to a B. If you’re a history nerd or even just slightly interested in history, I would recommend his class.more

Took sir jeric for POLSC 112 just this sem and I would definitely recommend taking his class! -Sir is very engaging and knowledgeable on the topics he’s teaching. It’s really difficult to get bored in his class. At times he’d make banters with the class which is really nice. he might come off a bit difficult to approach, but dont mind it, hes really nice especially if you approach him about class matters or questions regarding the lesson -As for requirements, sobrang light and minimal. For our class at least, all we had to do was a final paper, which was really easy to do. The final exam we took was also easy. So with regard to the requirements, definitely manageable. Hes also available for consultation and his comments on your work are really comprehensive and helpful! -If you’re aiming for an A, it’s definitely possible if you take sir’s class! I got an A with above average effort, so if you want a class where you can learn a lot while having only light to moderate workload, take sir jeric’s class!!!!more

my block loves jeric! we had him for EURO 20 and he knows his stuff real well! he’s really good at explaining concepts as someone who went into EURO 20 with nothing but a dream. one thing to note (im not sure if ganto rin sa EURO 181.1i), hindi na niya nabalik yung mga quizzes or writing exercises namin so we really did this entire class blindly. other than that, sobrang worth it!more

take him! most fulfilling A of my ateneo thus far was his beadle for EURO 20 and while he doesnt curve, he will make u so engaged with the course that it'll solidify your interest in europe for our class tho, he was able to return our quizzes (was able to score a perfect 30% lumagpas pa bcoz of bonus pts LOL) so it's rlly js a matter of putting the work he will not BS u and will not sugarcoat things pero di tlga siya terror would even call him a mentor will actually take 181.1i as my euro elective next next year!more

Ok in all honesty, I love him as a prof. But ive only been his student on INTACT for now so: U will see him sideeye ppl like oftenly, hes strict, gets mad if ure really late and will defo hate on u r a bida bida and expect to be scolded at times. Just dont do stuff that will get him mad and do things as he instructs u to. Tbh he gives out bad cop vibes lmao but his teaching prowess is really good according to my seniors DISCLAIMER: Take my opinion of him as a grain of salt cuz ive only been with him for a sem palang ;-;more
