the way that the rat discussion ISNT a joke and 100% real sksksksk can vouch for what the my previous classmates have said (,,, and ) heheh his quizzes and tests are super time pressured to the point that i think its somewhat unfair lol. most of it are application + sometimes the questions can get a bit long as well as his choices so it doesn’t make sense how theres only less than one minute to answer each (?) also, despite him saying that this onsite lectures are compressed or that it captures only the important parts, its highly advisable to really write notes from the book chapters he gives/assigns. some of his quiz/tests come from there! his questions also can quite be tricky hehehe so be careful 🙃 grading wise/requirements wise: he’s mostly on quizzes and a few tests. quizzes are like mini lts for me cause they go up to 30 items lols. an occasional final project if ure lucky. bc he doesn’t have much variety to his requirements, a bad grade on a test wont do well on ur final grade:// he also has high standards for his essays!! (imagine essays on his time pressured quizzes nlng hahah) [note that this is coming from my experience under his evo bio and microbio lecture class which work with a lot of biology related eme eme memorization hahahha so idk if this applies for sts that much!! also idk how he works during semesters cause i took him for 2 intersessions hahaha 🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️🤸🏼‍♀️] BUT i think you’ll learn a lot from him despite what i have said above. i found him entertaining in class and its really easy to listen to his lectures. take notes onsite and on time cause a lot of his examples show up on his quiz/tests. i think he’s also lenient with deadlines hehehe. would i take him again (?) maybe yes maybe no depende kapag batch 2 ako HAHAHHAHA. would say B+ with effort, A with extra effort:))more

I'm not sure about bio lec, but I had last sem in bio lab and it was honestly a bad experience. He's a "chill" prof, but I found him to be too chill to the point where it didnt seem like he cared about our class. He didn't set up submission bins for our lab activities, so he ended up having us submit all of them at the same time at the end of the sem. He also didnt have a synthesis project planned, so he just made us submit our project from bio lec at the end of the sem. Though, personally, the worst part for me were the quizzes. Most of them were online asynchronous, but they were filled with questions that asked about the most niche details in the powerpoints (which were mostly just a series of pictures from google). Overall I had a terrible experience with him but hopefully he is better as a lec prof.more

had him for [onsite] evolutionary bio lec & lab!! 🤩 teaching style: he meets with the class once a week. his ppts are bullet points only, which he expounds with experiences/real-life applications. take notes of this bc very helpful in exams. his stories are funny! assessments: most are online. for lec, 1 (objective) quiz per module iirc. for lab, lab reports! BUT final exams are essays (hard!! concept heavy). grading: grades super late for essays & lab reports so you wont know if ure in a good standing in class or not lmao overall, easy B+, A with some effort (esp with lab class!!)more

He's a good prof! Took him last year and he knows what he's teaching so you're in good hands. He doesn't check attendance, he doesn't call for recitation, he just discusses. He teaches using PPT and he gives them naman via canva. If you want a chill class, choose this. We had light requirements lang naman which consisted of pure online tests and a group presentation. As long as you take down notes, you'll be fine because I noticed that he tends to grade better if you incorporate what he said during class, or you can also just read the readings and PPTs.more

forgot to mention this. His tests are essay type, idr anymore but probably around 2 questions each test. He's also generous with deadlines. I remember him making the test available to answer for 1 whole week although you can only submit once plus there's a time limit din. Still a good experience overall tho.more
